We’re spoiling ourselves this year and renting a cabin from Rockwood in early June. We have a couple day trips planned to Rose and Johnson Falls and plan to fish.

The question at hand is, I’ve never fished Poplar Lake. Any thoughts, experiences or advice would be awesome.

Never fished poplar itself but if you’re up for day trips Meeds has always been very productive for us.

Fish the first break where the rocks meet the mud in 6-12 feet with leeches and you will catch dinner.

Good luck!

Poplar is easily the worst lake up there fishing wise. Very few bass, not much for walleyes or pike. Stick with day trips on other lakes. Hungry Jack and West Bearskin are both really good.
