Hello all,
I just picked up a lighter canoe (another Sawyer), so I’m reluctantly parting with my X-17. If I had the space, I’d keep it. The X-17 has a wonderful combination of speed, efficiency, capacity, maneuverability, and seaworthiness. It has excellent initial and final stability. This Goldenglass layup is a laminate of fiberglass cloth and roving with Kevlar reinforcement. It has no structural foam, which makes for a rugged but heavier (75#) hull. This canoe has always been protected from UV damage. It has bottom scratches (of course) and a couple small gelcoat chips. One of the cane seats has a small hole. No structural damage.
