There is a steep hillside with soft soil along the Mississippi River near the lock and dam in Minneapolis where I often see a bunch of robins all winter. The slope of the hill faces directly at the winter sun, so it always the first place to melt off and expose warm ground. Funny, I just don’t think of robins as winter birds.
