I like this stove so much that I have two. I see no reason you couldn't cook a pot for four on it. I've cooked as large as a 3 liter pot and a Frybake 10.5" expedition pan. The pan can get a little "hot-spotty" due to diameter vs flame size if you're careless, but I've never had any real trouble.

Not a Kovea Spider but a Chinese clone,
that I have used 4 quart pot on and a GSI 2.7 quart pressure cooker. Kovea is a S. Korean maker, supplies parts for MSR and is a fine quality stove. Should do you well!
But if oriental pricing/shipping keep going up a very good alternative is the MSR WindPro 2.

I tried one to use as an inverted canister stove and returned it. The problem I had was similar to the negative reviews - almost impossible to control the flame and getting sputtering and such no matter where the valve was at. It didn't work all that well with the canister upright either. There's something funky about the QC or specs in the valve or preheat tubes I guess. Some work like a charm, some don't.
Picked up an Optimus Vega and soooo much happier, though it lightened my pocketbook a little more. Maybe a bit more bulky when folded, still light enough, wonderful flame control upright and very acceptable flame control with inverted canisters.

Time in the woods leaves no time for carving and drawing. Carving and drawing leaves no time for getting lost in the woods. I really need to retire.

Iso-butane is good to teen temperatures, propane/butane mixes can be found.
I hardly bother with a stand, a rock or 2 work fine.
Because the Spider is a remote fuel tank stove, full coverage windscreens can be used. Save fuel and cook time.
