Hi friends,

I was considering doing some ice fishing and winter camping over Jan 15 weekend. I was thinking of Moss for lake trout, any other recommendations? Or advice on how to catch them? I do have a 4 wheeler that can tow my sled or would be willing to hike with the pulk sled into a lake that would produce. Pretty open to anywhere that I can catch fish through the ice. I know these spots can be secretive and absolutely will not disclose any information to others. Just looking to fish and throw up a tent somewhere, no campsite needed as I am perfectly happy doing dispersed camping. Well aware of the cold and all that and will be prepared. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you kindly.

Spent a couple nights on Moss a few years ago. The tow in wasn't too bad but it was busy. When we got there we had the lake to ourselves. Over the two days we were there we must of have 100 snowmobiles cross the lake. Fishing was best in the morning, not much for size.

Leave the wheeler at home, you'll thank me later. You will have a hard time on the trail keeping the width of the wheels on packed snow. Then there is traveling on a lake with nearly 2 feet of snow on it. The hike in really isn't that bad.
