Looking at a trip that's fishing based for the week of Sept 12th. Mainly walleye, but N and SMB welcome too. Would classic walleye lakes be better than a river system like the Kawashiwi? The areas like steeper/deeper drop-offs and such where fall walleyes generally are this time of year being well known by our crew who run fish finders religiously. Any thoughts 2wks out from permit reservation window would be great to help us decide. Thanks....
I'd lean more towards base camping with this crew, with option for day trips. If on the Kawashiwi there's day trip options all up and down river as well as up into Clear. Some of the lakes I've looked at are Wood Lake with possible trip to Good Lake. Both seem to have decent walleyes? I've done spring trip to Kawashiwi and liked it there than the amount of people, and fall trips to Agnes, Isabella, and a couple other lakes. Hoping a fall trip will have less people? Trying to avoid overly large lakes so we don't get wind bound also. I have a few areas I'm looking at entering, just looking for some outside opinions to help make final choice. Thanks for posting.
