Does anyone know if the more restrictive food, bait etc rules of last year are still in affect this year. I use garcial barrels for my food but wondering if I need to plan on hanging other stuff.

If, by "other stuff," you mean "a soft-sided food container not designed to eliminate odors nor able to stand up to a bear's ability to rip it open," you hang it. No need to wait for any Forest ruling or lack thereof on that one.

The rules from last year still stand at this point in time.

Nope not what I mean. Like I said I use Garcia bear barrels. Last year the forest service ruled that bait and such has to be hung. Thats what I mean as I do have scented lures.

Yup. That goes in a bear resistant container or hung, too. Personal toiletries with scents, medicines with food like scents (tums, cough medicine, etc.). Basically anything a bear can smell and take (or mistake) for food.
