Have anyone ever flyfished walleyes and bass in bwca or Quetico? What are good setups and flies to use?

Bass yes, Walleye no. For Bass you want a 6-7 weight rod and line and a deer hair popper, or cork popper. Very fun to catch them on a fly rod. For walleye i would suggest a sink tip line, and a leech bunny fur fly, most streamers probably would work too. You need to get the fly on the bottom. A crazy Charlie has weight enough to get to the bottom, so try these too.

Last year on knife, early June, I had the privilege of actually sight fishing some walleye that were mingling around some fallen trees and a huge boulder. I pulled three out of the same little hole, all while our canoe was pretty much directly over them. I'd say about 10 feet of water.

I believe they took a white wooly bugger, but it may have been a green one.

Bass... yes. Early june they will be around or on their beds in shallow water... sometimes extremely shallow--just a few feet from the shore. A good green popper or a white streamer has been great for me. However, I will say that it gets very old targeting bass that are on their beds. I try not to do it because there is hardly any sport in it.

I've always used a full sink line for the streamers.. and I upline-- so on my 8 weight I use a 9 weight line just to help drive the cast in the canoe.

We usually fish one at a time, taking turns in each bay. That helps navigation in wind while someone fishes in front.

Bass: dry fly terrestrial made of foam (like a Fat Albert or other hopper; cicada), 6 wt+ rod with floating line.

Northern: Clouser Minnow type streamer or a mouse or other large terrestrial. The pic on my profile was caught with a Clouser on a 8 wt rod with 9 wt floating line.

I haven't tried for Walleye but the Clouser Minnow should work.
