Bought a beginners fly tying kit from Amazon last year to make flies for salmon fishing in Alaska. Tricked out a few spoons for this year's opener. Hope the trout and walleye like them.

Those'll work! I like the firetiger and blue/silver cleo... would definitely use those. Tight lines!

Nice! I've messed around making hair jigs. Haven't dressed up any spoons. These look good.

shock due to the new entry point restriction I had to get a permit for Thursday instead of the usual Friday. Forest service did away with Seagull only permits and cut the optional by a third. Hope to see you there.

Nice job on adding some flash to those spoons. It reminds me I need to try this on a couple of whopper ploppers this year.

Going in on 5-12 and coming out on 5-21. Yes there will be beer. Hopefully the same spot if not look for the flag.

Would this affect the lure depth or action? I'm tempted to swap out some of my treble hooks to add a bucktail, but I'm wondering if there are any drawbacks that I should consider.

i haven, had any drawbacks , just success. i did try animal fur that had the hide on and that did hinder the spoons movement.
