On Mpls CL today...

I sent the guy a polite note that the Northwind was 17.5 ft.

He replied: "Not sure if your; Asking, Telling, or Scolding. Is there a question?" which I thought was a bit snarky. as I thought maybe he might like to know. I didn't bother with the fact that Bell called the layup Kevlite and that Starlite was the Northstar name.

He also posted a Bell Magic in Starlite.

.

Sure looks a lot like a Black Gold layup

Sorry if I the poster is a member here and was offended .

I inquired and talked talked to this guy yesterday very nice person. I informed him also that this was a 17f he was very nice and cordial about it and I see now he has changed his ad. I had every intention of buying both boats but the magic sold real fast. the boats are in near new condition and well taken care of. If the transmission didn’t go out in my car this morning the Northwind would be on top of my car Wednesday. Hope this boat goes to a good home. I kinda fell in Love with it.

Yes, they look pristine and the price was good. Surprised the Northwind is still listed.

Northwind looks to be in great shape but not pristine. Needs a least one gel coat repair about the size of a silver dollar. Thought the price was still fair so I’m picking up this weekend, can’t wait to patch it up and get it on the water! Sounds like it’s only made one trip to the BW and not much getting wet beyond that.

If I can’t get it into the garage I’ll have a NC Prospector 17 in R-lite up for sale soon.

Thedude, sorry to hear about your car and I hope you're able to find a boat soon. This one will be very much appreciated and paddled often. My wife and I have been tripping for going on 12 years in our Nova Craft and last year during a heat wave in a burn area she encouraged me to get something lighter. Have been looking ever since and have had a few deals fall through but I'm hopeful that this is good buy. Will be my first tandem with wood trim, I'm excited.

I feel like this boat would have sold more quickly if it didn't have a big chip in the gelcoat but oh well, I have two other canoes in similar layups and while the patches never match exactly, they are below the waterline so who cares 'cept the fishes.

Glad you got it. Something else will pop up for myself. I just have to be patient. This would have been my first “real” canoe kinda bummed but watcha going to do
