We just returned home from another great BWCA trip.
EP: 14 Little Indian Sioux River North
I posted a trip report for anyone to read and hear about our 4 day, 3 night adventure -- one filled with crazy weather, a bear visit, bugs, and lots of mileage.

We did get caught in some severe weather. A hail storm had us hunkering down on Eugene Lake on Tuesday morning. Anyone else get caught up in that?

Did you stay at the narrows site on Eugene Lake? We were there years ago and like that site very much. Climbed the hill across from that site and picked berries. In the bay on the west side to the north saw a young bull moose feeding in the water. I loved that whole area.

I would sure not want to be paddling in that hail. Did it do any damage to your tarp or tents?

No damage to our gear. Luckily, we had not taken the tarp down quite yet and felt fortunate that we hadn't as it sure protected the two of us!

Yes. Great site! Would highly recommend and hope to return on a future trip!

Here is a picture of that bay on Eugene with that bull moose and me. A long time ago...

Get to the point...what kind of cocktail did you make? I'd be making lemonade out of those hailstone lemons.

Sounds like from reading your trip report that the hail happened rather early in the morning. Hail, as many know, is not foreign to the Northland, but, hail that size and that early in the day is a bit of an anomaly. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a great trip. We did that exact route last year but we spent 7 days.
Our favorite sight was on Lynx for sure. We spent 2 nights there. It was eerily quiet even through Shell lake which is usually one of the most popular on that route.
We exited the day they shut down #14 due to the fires. Was my favorite trip so far.

First thing I thought when I saw the hail was what it would be like to have a cold drink up there. We trip in July and August and really crave something cold to drink. LOL

We should have been prepared to make a couple of screwdrivers to compliment breakfast!
