I think I have said it before but wanted to give another shoutout the Quetico Mike Zulu rigging method again. Excluding early summer trips when we might take live leeches, Each year I find it to be my most successful method of fishing in the BWCA for smallies, walleye and pike. Simple to setup and can be used trolling or casting and we always catch at least some fish with that method. We have gone late August the last several years so I add a split shot weight just above swivel to get it deeper.
