Just out of curiosity, what is it that drives your preference of Bell Northwind (built before 2006) over other Northwinds?

And would a Northstar Northwind 17 also be acceptable?

Ted sold Bell Canoes (name included in the sale) to a company called ORC in 2006. That company had no experience building canoes, and the quality suffered during the 7 years that they manufactured them.

And yes, a Northstar Northwind is absolutely acceptable! I am looking for a canoe for one of my daughters as a college graduation gift, and this past October we borrowed a Bell NW from a friend-and she really liked it.

I'll have a Northstar Northwind 16 with wood trim for sale this week. 2020 model, has seen three BW trips and a couple small lake jaunts. Meticulously maintained. Will be asking $3300. Love this canoe but found my dream canoe at Canoecopia this weekend.

Beautiful boat; almost bought that exact canoe this weekend at Copia for $3,400 (sale price). I appreciate the offer, but I am holding out for a 17. Curious: what beauty did you find at Copia???

I bought the Swift Prospector 16 in the expedition kevlar....ruby color. Gorgeous boat and the one I had planned to buy when COVID hit and they canceled Canoecopia.

That Prospector is a beauty; congrats!!! I love pretty much the entire Swift line. I wish there was a retailer near me. Madison is the closest, but they are 4 hours away. Unsure why nobody in the Twin Cities carries their line.
