New Portage Rules

It’s about time they did something to address this issue.

Putting lights on portages, green/red lights for stop and go…hopefully this will eliminate anymore incidents like the great portage battle of 2022. When 2 groups of 9 met in the middle of the portage and a brawl broke out about who violated the no group of more than 9 are allowed…

The BWCA is now looking into this.

My biggest peeve is that slower portage traffic doesn't keep to the right. We need wider portages with defined lanes and police to ticket slower portagers who are occupying the passing lane.

Relocate problem bears to areas with high portage traffic. I feel like people would be less inclined to lollygag on a portage if there was an aggressive bear in the area.

Great ideas, keep them coming... I'll send them to the Park Superintendent. Looks like they are really open to thinking outside the box to fix portage issues.

A couple local mountain bike trail systems have adopted directional trails. How about setting up Ontario Parks' portage trails to promote clockwise travel through each park in even years and counter-clockwise travel in odd years?

I’m guessing this is an April fools day joke?

Always a good guess when the posting date reads 04/01/XXXX
