I am going in at Nina Moose North early June. Thinking about going over to Ramshead Lake to base camp and fish. I am very new at this and would appreciate any thoughts on fishing this lake. Lakefinder says it has Northern Pike. I wonder about SMB. Any help will be appreciated.

There are only northerns in Ramshead-some that are trophy size. The island site is probably the best, with the second best on the east side. The many times I’ve stayed on Ramshead, I’m usually the only one. Also a great place to spot moose.

Since you plan to go from Nina Moose to Ramshead, consider taking a bit of time in Lamb lake to fish. It has some pretty nice northern pike too. I doubt it is fished a lot. The two times I have been there I had the lake to myself.
