I finally got my RABC but as soon as I looked at it I saw major mistakes and I don't know if I should worry about it or not. I checked the application that I sent them on line and there are no mistakes. On my new RABC they have my name correct, they have the street address where I lived a couple of years ago, with the town where I was born but moved from 57 years ago, with the zip of where I lived in the mid 80's. I have NO idea why that information is on there and randomly mixed as the app has none of it. My birth certificate does, of course, have my birth town. Why in the HELL they mixed information from 3 different addresses, only one of which I have ever applied for an RABC from, but have NONE of my current address which is all I sent them, I do not know. Should I just go and not worry about it? No one has ever checked it anyway, and I am afraid it will mess up our trip to try to get it fixed. It is, after all, their mistake. What do you all think?

Personally, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I'd ignore it and play dumb. Im not sure I've ever heard of anyone having an RABC checked, except for a short time following the 9/11 attack.

When is your trip? If the date is near, just go. If it’s later in the summer, I think I would call them and get it corrected. I’m not OCD, but that would bug me.

Agreed,

If your trip is soon just go, otherwise get it corrected. It will ultimately fall on you, not the Gubment, if you ever get in a pinch.

In general I hold our neighbors to the north in high regard. But what the heck is going on with CBSA these days? What a mess.

Like others, I’d just go with it. Maybe carry a copy of the application that you submitted just in case you have to show it to a Canadian border agent (unlikely).

Thanks everyone, I will carry a copy of the original application and not worry about it. Still baffles me how they have all that old information on me and why it was so randomly mixed together, definitely makes me shake my head!

Border Crossing Agents likely monitor this forum, so you'll probably be checked on this trip. I hope you didn't post your entry date and details!!

You made a good faith effort, and I'd go with whatever they issued to you.

And if they question if you brought potatoes, they mean you and not the other guys in your group.

Thought I'd update everyone. My wife insisted on calling to see if she could straighten this out. She said the lady she talked to acted like it happened all the time, smh. She said just email the corrections and they would get a replacement sent right out.

Most likely they were checking you out and used background info …
That’s enough craziness that I also would want to to check it out. Are they testing you to see if you looked it over before you signed it?

They sent the corrected RABC almost immediately. Still no idea why it was all mixed up, but at least it is fixed now. First time I've ever experienced this, and I've applied for a bunch of RABC's.

This is kind of a hoot. Ours had an error in the address, I called to see if it needed to be corrected. Before I could even complete my sentence she cut in with “inconsequential, doesn’t matter.” Good enough for me! That office must be a madhouse right now.
