I'm heading in soon for a 9 day solo loop out of Leano. I'm excited to get into some lakers and try out some tarp tent ground pitches when I can't find some good trees for hanging my hammock. Who has some trips in the works and where you going?

After reading Hobbydog’s trip report, I decided to do a similar solo. The plan is to fly to Artery Lake, then work my way south, eventually exiting at Wallace Lake. This will be my first trip in the western part of the park. I am planning on taking about 2 weeks. Heading out in early June.

I will be next door in Atikaki but want to get back to Walking Stick in WCPP in the next few years. So many fond memories of paddling there and a lot of country up there did not burn.

Sure wish I’d learned more about WCPP years ago before I got old and decrepit!! Last year when my son and I went up for a few days was my first time there. We loved it.

My wife and I along with two friends are planning on a week or so out of Leano in early September. Our average age is 71 so we are not going for an ambitious trip.
Down into Kilburn for sure and maybe up or just past Bunny.

Would be glad to hear anyone’s thoughts on the area.

...just returned from that region...September is a good month for moose watching in that region...good paddling to get into Middle and Upper Kilburn with short portages off the west end of Kilburn...lake trout fishing is good in that region. Sydney Lake is a wonderful paddle/while lots of open water: the east side provides some decent campsites, good fishing and the south of Sydney Lake is Rowdy Lake which is part of the WCCP...the age of group was 73/69 and 12/Black Labrador...expect sometime being windbound with the size of the waters/but back bays/points/and protected shorelines offer some protection...enjoy.
