Newbie here for a huge fire ban, and these conditions.
Just making sure i'm understanding what's going on. All of the bwca is no campfires all year. correct?

or is it all superior national forest?

i Got a plan B just want to make sure that on snowbank lake in 3 weeks has a fire ban in place. there's always next year.

You are partially correct. The entire BWCA does currently have a ban on all campfires, including using twig stoves or alcohol stoves. Certain camp stoves are allowed such as those using a canister or white gas.

The ban is not necessarily for the entire year. The Superior National Forest can rescind this no-fire order at any time. They will only do so when we have had significant amounts of rain - and I mean significant. A couple thunder storms the dump a 1/4 inch of rain will do nothing. Will we get a significant amount of rain in the next 3 weeks? That's anyone's guess, but I'm thinking not likely.

As for the rest of the SNF, I have not followed those rules so closely so perhaps someone else can answer. I think the ban is all over the SNF, but that there are a few specific exceptions involving developed campsites with FS installed fire rings - but I'm not sure.

The fire restrictions apply to all of the Superior National Forest with the exception of a few of their developed fee campgrounds. I recommend going to their website for specifics.

Keep on mind that Minnesota DNR has also banned campfires, for the most part, in St. Louis, Lake and Cook counties.
