Anyone know the condition of HWY 2 from Two Harbors toward Ely?

That road is terrible.....
I pull a boat and don't drive over 40.
One stretch in particular.
Just washboard for 20 some miles. Needs resurfaced...

I drove it on Friday and it wasn't great, but there's far worse paved roads in the Northland. Compared to the trash they call roads here in Duluth, it's perfect.

Yeah, it's not the best but I don't go around it. Live near Isabella and travel it often.

Is it gravel in some spots? Or just old pavement?

No gravel on 2, just sections of rough road..

Just rough. I prefer to go up to Hy 1. More curves but better road and more scenic.

Drove up in early June. It was rough. Bounced the whole way in the truck.

Looks like you access Hw 1 in Finland? I think I will try it.

If you are coming from the south up 35W you can also turnoff at Cloquet and go thru Virginia. Roads are excellent. Especially on the weekends avoids the Hwy 61 traffic. Route

It's the only way I go.
I think the road is fine.
