I'm heading into Ogish next week on a 5 day fishing solo. Plans, subject to change of course, are to base camp so I can spend as much time fishing as possible. My plan is to fish walleye early and late in the day, smallmouth during the day. Originally I wanted to portage into Spice to fish northerns one day but not sure how the fire will impact access. One day can be devoted to lakers on a side trip.
Has anyone been in recently with any advice to share on current conditions?

if your adventures , lakers in holt and it see's very little pressure((unmaintained portage)). ogish doesnt have a large populations of lake trout. but pike in ogish shouldnt be an issue to catch.
