Crashed my mtn bike and separated my shoulder. Full tear of the AC tendon(?). It honestly doesn’t hurt, mainly just discomfort. Had to cancel my mid august trip. What I’ve read online is I can get the clavicle reattached, but it may only be for cosmetic reasons to eliminate the “bump” which I don’t really care about. I know it will be fine with time, and likely only affect overhand throwing… so paddling is in the clear, but I’d still like to hear about any others that have this injury. (The Er doc out in Colorado made it seem like it was as common as a kid losing a tooth- and the random people I talked to after that confirmed the commonality)
Nope, but a couple days ago I was a responder in Utah where a friend is a camp host. A young guy flipped his mountain bike and had some gashes in his head… he could have prevented that with the helmet he didn’t wear. Hard to prevent your injury. I hope your overhand is unaffected… and you recover quickly. Sorry about your trip being canceled. But there will be more!
