My GG and CCS packs are fairly comfortable on my long (~23") torso, but I'm wondering if there's something better out there. I've seen the Ostrum "custom" fit packs, but their "large" torso length is 21"-22". Not sure that would be a major improvement on my current packs.
Have any fellow tall folks found a portage pack that works well with a longer frame?

How tall are you? I'm 6'3" and I own two CCS Pioneer Packs. They seem to carry just fine as far as torso length is concerned (although they seem to be getting heavier as the years have gone on. lol)

6'3" with a 31" inseam here.. I dont have a ton of comparison experience, but I've been happy with the yoke and lifter arrangement on my Battle Lake Grand Portage Pack. Bombproof so far and made in America.

That’s great info thanks! I saw Ostrum offered quasi-custom sizing but this sounds just about perfect, I’ll look into it.

What is the issue with a standard pack on a long torso? This is something I've never considered. Or do you just want to carry more?
ps. Your profile picture makes you look pretty standard size...

Our Outfitter Series at Portage North (formerly Kondos Outdoors) has a multi-adjustable waist belt for this reason. It can adjust side-to-side and up-and-down. The maximum extension for the vertical adjustment brings the waist belt down to 23" from the top of the shoulder straps.
