Hot Dog that was a fun trip!
Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your posts.

Joe Meany is the John Wayne of Quetico. His brother Don, still builds paddles in Atikokan.

That was quite the adventure, BN3!
What did you have for a canoe?
You weighed 202 lbs when you started your trip. Did you weigh yourself at the end?
You mentioned Chrismar maps at one point, did you have other maps with more detail as well?
Thanks for taking the time to share your story.

OldTripper: "What did you have for a canoe?"

I used my trusty old Mad River Destiny. It paddles pretty well as a solo with plenty of room.

OldTripper: "You weighed 202 lbs when you started your trip. Did you weigh yourself at the end?"

First step on the scale when I got back was 194 lbs, but jumped to 198 the next day.

OldTripper: "You mentioned Chrismar maps at one point, did you have other maps with more detail as well?"

I had 3 or 4 Fisher Maps and a couple old paper copies of parts of Fisher maps. I was just short on Lac la Croix, but it worked out fine.

I really was quite an adventure!

Did you put in a center seat or paddle from an end?
I have a MRC Malecite that I've used as a tandem for many trips and have thought about the center seat and using it as a solo. I've never tried (yet) paddling it backwards from the front seat.

That's a bummer about your memory card, would have enjoyed seeing your pictures.

Nice report--I especially like (and will use in the future) the line "Sometimes you’re not lost, you just don’t know where you are." I think we've all been there, but didn't put it so succinctly! Sorry about the SD card and refrigerator items, too.
