What do you all use for a daypack that could also be a tackle bag? I may put three Plano 3600s in it (I know, I know, too much tackle but just humor me here), rain gear, and couple of other small items I’d want close by. All thoughts are appreciated.

I use an Eddie Bauer stowable backpack as a tackle bag/day pack. I don't remember if it's 20l or 30l. I can fit 2 or 3 Plano boxes in there plus lunch and rain gear.

I have the REI Flash 22. It is an appropriate size for a few Plano boxes and a couple other items. I do have a hard time fitting food in it though for when we want to have a daytrip. If you want your rain gear and other items, I'd go with a 30L, but for just a tackle box, 20L is just fine.

I have multiple fishing bags but the one I find myself coming back too all the time is the Mystery Ranch Gallagator 20 liter bag. It’s big enough you could probably fit everything you need into and opens really wide to get stuff quickly. It also was redesigned this year so you could maybe find them on sale at your local outdoor store, REI, Cabelas or Scheels if you look for it.

I just use my main pack. I leave everything back at camp if day tripping. I use a CCS Pioneer.

Plano Z series waterproof backpack/tackle bag. It will hold 4 3700 series boxes or you can have less or smaller boxes, and have room for plenty of other gear. Keeps everything nice and dry.

One important detail is how you plan on carrying your daypack. Are you planning on attaching it to the top of your main pack, throwing it on your front, stuffing it in your main pack, carrying it with the canoe, or just by itself with the rods and paddles? Those details matter when picking out the size of the pack.

A 20L is great for the smaller end where you want your fishing gear and a few extras. It is compact enough to see your feet while wearing it on your front, and easier to carry with your main pack.

30L is getting a little bigger for people that carry a lot of fishing gear or want to be able to carry more day trip gear. It's a bit harder to see around but still possible to carry on your front.

Bigger than about 30L is getting too big to carry on your front. It would be good as a day pack for multiple people and/or your shore lunch. You would want to wear larger packs like this on your back, and I wouldn't try to carry more than one pack of this size fully loaded.
