Looking at heading into EP1 mid-July, with the plan to base camp and fish for a few days. Seems like Pine Lake might be a good option. Does anyone have any insight on this area? Should we be considering another lake to base camp at?

I like this lake. There are some nice sites on this lake and I’ve had success fishing walleye there as well. You will though, probably hear motors from Vermilion if the wind direction is favorable. Oriniack is also another nice option.

We have had really good luck on the south shore of the east side of the lake. I’ve caught walleye, pike and smallmouth there.

We're heading to that EP and area too, July 13-17. Plan is to hit up lakers on Trout for a day and then Pine and possibly Oriniak and Little Trout. Our goal is to get in some walleye and hopefully nice pike too. Just have fun with the kids.

It's been a few years since we've been in the BWCA so should be fun.
