Working my way from EP23 to a base camp on Thurs/Fri Bay. Not sure what to expect for fishing.

I suspect I'll be fine....what is general opinion?

Follow Kanoes advice. We stayed at the one marked 1852 (18) last year - best site I've been to (Thanks, Buz!). Great fishing right in that big current and around the islands there, caught walleyes, SM, and pike.

My group just paddled out to EP23 from Lower Basswood Falls yesterday (6/23)after tripping from EP19 through Iron and Crooked. Our best fishing was found along current edges in 12-15 feet of water between Thursday Bay and Lower Basswood falls. We caught Northerns and mostly small Walleyes (probably males). Not a single Smallie. We thought the larger females either weren't biting, or we just couldn't find them.

Crooked Lake is great for fishing. Small mouth are every where there are rocky points. The walleyes are concentrated in the areas of current and around the falls and there are some ridiculously huge northern in that lake. caught this one and another 40+ on the same trip there 4 years ago.
