I was talking to some people about hiking the BW this weekend and of course the "best" trail topic came up. So I was wondering what you people thought was the premier BW trail or even northern Minnesota trail. Whether from personal experience or from what you've heard. Think of this as a marketing survey. I'm not too concerned about your reason. Any opinions?

My list would probably be
1. Border Route
2. Sioux Hustler
3. SHT
4. Snowbank
5. Angleworm
6. Kek
7. Pow Wow

I was on a Border Route Trail clearing crew last weekend and we were talking about promoting trails and how poorly the BRT people have promoted their trail. SHT is by far the best promoted trail. Angleworm always seems to get recommendations on these boards. Everyone has heard of the Kek and wants to do it. People seem to have heard of the Border Route but few have hiked it and almost no one has even heard of the Sioux Hustler.
This discussion came up regarding how to get people on trail clearing trips.
Astrid Lake Trail is a great day hike but again few have heard about it. Just as well.

I've hiked the bottom four on the above list, and most of the SHT. Glad your top two are ones that I can look forward to!

Talusman, what part of the border route trail did you work on clearing?

We cleared the first part. From Swamp River to the junction that goes out to Otter Rd. It's about a five mile section.
