Anyone have any hiking trips planned this year?

In May, my buddies and I are going to do a 4 day hike down the Superior Hiking Trail again.

In September, I hope, I will go try my hand at Eagle Mountain in the BW. That one will be a short, short, trip, but still a trip.

I hope to do more, but they are usually spur of the moment trips.

How 'bout you? Where you walking to this year?

In May I'm planning the Border Route Trail. It'll probably take a week.

I'm planning to hike the Mantario Hiking Trail again this year. I try to do it every year; doesn't always work out, though. It's in Manitoba, and most people seem to hike it in 3 to 4 days. So far I've managed to do it in under two days each time; I like going light and fast. I always do it solo. My running, and now backpacking and canoeing, seem to work out as solo endeavors, and I have always enjoyed them that way.

Minnesotian, I'd encourage you to hike it if you ever get the chance. It's rugged, poorly marked, and amazing. I have done it when the first person I met was my wife picking me up at the North end of the trail. I have gotten at least a bit lost each time. Some areas are well marked, others are definitely not. Keeps it interesting. This year I did it in September, and met up with 5 bears. Can't wait to get back.

I'm planning a couple days on the SHT at the beginning of May with my daughter before she moves to Colorado. Also 6 days hiking cabin to cabin across the Porkies in August.
