I'm in the middle of reading Zeitoun by Dave Eggers. It is a very inspirational true story about a man who stayed behind in New Orleans during and after Hurricane Katrina. He used an old aluminum canoe to rescue his neighbors and feed their pets for as long as he could. His wife and four children left town before the storm and he stayed in touch the best he could. I haven't finished the book yet, but I would recommend it to anyone on this board.
