one more question. where are you hitting the border on the way back?

My guess is Otterack Lake on way back to Big Sag.

Fisher Maps

F-11: Snowbank Lake, Knife Lake, Kekekabic Lake
F-19: Saganaga Lake, Seagull Lake
F-18: Kahshahpiwi Lake, Agnes Lake, This Man Lake, That Man Lake

AND you may add:

F-32: Special Seagull Area

Covers most of the area of the 3 above on one map. You will still need the other 3 though...

if youre getting to ottertrack via emerald/plough you would only need 2 mckenzies.

6 and 26.

I would highly recommend a
Chrismar map.

I looked at the maps I own...
I have:
F-32
E-4
F-19

and McKenzie 6-A

I think that 6-A will work instead of just 6???? I think If I order the McKenzie 26 along with it.

I also think I will order the F-11 and F-18 so I have the route in both maps.

Plus the Chrismar that QP recommended.

Another Question? What do you think of running this after Silver Falls, down thru Lily Pad, Jasper, and run the loop that way?? Any problems you can see with that? I was thinking that way you can see Lily pad and Jasper which you might otherwise miss?

Are there any other Pictographs besides the one in Cache Bay?

do you have to like check back in at American Customs somewhere coming back into US? Where's that at?

Thanks,

SunCatcher

the dropdown to ottertrack you mentioned...does that mean you will loop CW and do the silver falls portage twice?

customs is im GM.

i dont have 6A and mckenzies site is so crappy when it comes to reviewing map coverage that i couldnt tell you if that would work. im sure mocha could.

dont forget your canpass.

Well, If we go down through Jasper...YES we would do the Silver Falls portage twice. Is there any major fo-paa's with this idea? Just asking? What way does the water run? does it matter?

So we have to stop at customs in Grand Marais? I only crossed the border at a border crossing, not remotely, so hate to be a D.A. about the questions.

Thanks,

I would not do the detour through Jasper and Lily pad. Some of the portages through there are mucky messes, without much reward for your efforts. I actually like the route between Ottertrack and Saganaga, despite it being a more heavily travelled border route.
