Just returned from my maiden solo loop trip entering @ EP 14. All went well until the zipper failed on my tent truncating my experience by a day or two. Learned a lot, and I am glad to be home!

Good to hear you got-er-done buddy. Two bad about the tent zipper. Did you forget the duct tape?

I tried duct tape, but to no avail! Actually, I had used some of the tape I had earlier on the trip on a tent pole that cracked...sending the tent back to Big Agnes today.

I've never written a trip report, but I just might for this one.

I really enjoyed it, overall. The first night was kind of weird, but after that, I totally liked being able to set my own agenda. I brought enough food to feed a small platoon for about a month-should have listened to those who said they don't eat as much on solo trips-and I am still trying to figure out why I wasn't hungry.

I want to go to WCPP next year when my shoulder is fully recovered (it hurts like hell right now)...

There is a real social aspect to eating - people tend to eat more when thay are together in groups. You know - like the holidays!

Your shoulder will probably be a lot stronger when it recovers and quits hurting. At least that's the way it was with my knee.

Welcome back. Did you build fires or just use camp stoves? I did about half the time on my first solo. I found it was taking up my fishing time.

By the time I got back from my first solo, I was already planning my second. Not everyone feels that way. How about you?

Welcome home... Hope the bugs didn't get you too bad through the screen. I used a Big Agnes on my WCPP trip and it served me very well. I'm sure they'll treat you well. Happy unpacking!

Heard you had quote the wet trip, Ben! Glad you made it home safely. The unpacking is the worst...but it's done.

Jeriatric-I am thinking about a short fall trip. I would like to paddle through the burn area.

Chesapeakes-I did not build any fires, but I also pretty much only fished from shore due to the winds. As usual, I brought enough tackle to restock TGO's shelves (whom I finally met; great guy!), and that is something that will not happen on the next trip.
