The video doesn't do justice to how steep this trail really is. For verification of that fact, listen for the Darth Vader breathing near the end of the video. :)

Wow, lots of deadfalls, rock gardens, and a steady climb. Did you catch any Brook Trout?

That 's a steep son of a gun. How was the fishing? Did you go to gadwall too?

Threw the tackle box at 'em. You woulda thunk we built up some karma doing that portage???? But, we got skunked. Must've not been our day? Still, it's a beautiful lake with some great vistas.

Didn't make it back up to Gadwall. But, we did make it back into Bench. (tough portage there as well) Thing was, it was SOOO weedy that fishing there was more an exercise in weed extraction than anything else. So we gave up early there. Kinda disappointing, cause fishing started off so hot on Alder coming in.
