Great Report! I too have gone this route and had great success with the fishing.

Great Trip report. Took my 75 year old dad for his inaugural BWCA trip on the that route reversed. It was a short trip too but one I will never forget. He has been able to get out twice more with me and hopefully he will be up for another one this spring.

I took my Dad when he was 66. Looks like your Dad had a real good time. It's a shame he didn't get a pic with that big northern. The same thing happened to me when I took my Dad. We couldn't boat a huge northern. Those orange lip grabbers from Cabelas would of helped both of us in that situation.

Thanks for the nice comments. I'm thinking next year will be going the other way and taking the boys for their first trip, they're 9 and 6. We'll have to get out and do some practice paddling to see if they could handle it.
