Thanks again for sharing your trip with us. By the way, upon checking your profile, I noticed that we are neighbors. I live near Rockton. I was wondering if you have ever checked out the Wintertrekking.com website?
I set a goal of losing 10 lbs. this year. I only have 15 left to lose.
Thats really neat, i'm working on a new list of must haves for my next trip. i'm looking to have everything that i can put in my backback. working on doing without some items. i sure want to switch to dehydrated foods. im probably going to be mostly a soloist at this so I've got to get lighter. maybe even stick to an entry point lake.
Hey GBCF- I give you tons of credit for doing a 5 day solo trip for your first bwca winter camping experience! You will find ways to improve your kit/system which can make things easier. But it will never be easy-solo camping in the wilderness that is. Lots of chores. Hauling is a workout. And it can get lonely. I have the luxury of living in the Twin Cities-only about 5 hours away from the BWCA so I can justify shorter trips 3-4 days which I find realy refreshing. I get some me time, but then I am really excited to see and talk to people by the time I head home.
Don't get discouraged, the "bug" doesn't go away!
