I posted this on the regular Quetico board and got virtually no replies, so I thought I would try it here. Any suggestions on fishing spots in this general area? I will be traveling this route in mid June (providing the ice ever leaves; 1 degree in Mpls as I write this!) and would appreciate any suggestions. Primarily looking for walleyes, although I may try my luck with lake trout as well. Thanks!

I'm doing the same route only going the other way. It's my first time in the area so I'm interested too. I want to layover somewhere around Glacier or Fauqueir but know nothing about those lakes.
Also interested in any off the path lakes to explore or fish. Bit Lake anyone?

Glacier is a great smallie lake, darkest smallies I've ever seen. Louisa and McEwen for the lakers. Lots of nice bass in the Men. It's been a few years since I was there but I suspect the fish are still there. Drop me an email I'll see what I can remember.

Yes I'm doing well just been very busy.
I took up fly tying about a year ago and started selling supplies. Been busy ever since. Might just quit my day job one of these days. ;)
Missing out yet again this year on Quetico, but will be going back to Costa Rice tarpon fishing again this fall. There's just something to be said about catching a 250 pound fish on a fly tied to 40 pound test. ;)

Just another person grateful to Bo for all the trip advice over the years. Thanks, you're the best. I'm gonna lay over on Glacier and see if I can find some of those dark smallies.

I'm not a fisher person but Louisa is reported to be one of the great trout lakes in Canada.
I found Glacier is a little sparse in camp sites; and better fishing reported at south end. (There is suppose to be an historical portage route from there through Gamp.)
Good luck - great route - look forward to your report.
Someone planning a Chicago wingnight?!
