I just found this group...sorry I'm late to the party!

I just made a batch of gluten free all purpose flour which turned into my first attempt at a gluten free bread. Wish I had taken a picture now! It was good/ok...more like a pound cake than a light bread.

My girlfriend decided last year that gluten free was helping her. Of course, this was just before Thanksgiving! I ended up making 2 different stuffings; one gluten free (GF). and two homemade, gf, pumpkin pies. along with a HUGE turkey, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes. Did I mention her oven was broke so all I had was crock pots, roaster, cook top, and a small counter top oven. Thank goodness for wine! and a love of cooking!

My sister has been diagnosed with celiac disease so I have some interest in this. I have substantially reduced my own consumption and find I feel better as a result. I have not really bothered much with alternative baking as much as just eliminating bread.

I have just recently started trying to bake gf. Birthday party next week and I thought a gf cake would be the best for all attending. We will see how it turns out!

I have found it fairly easy to provide gf meals for those in my life. The hardest really is the baked goods. I have learned to read the labels.

Lots of chips, pretzels and snack food options that are gf.
