To put that in perspective. That is darn close to the height of McKnight Tower in Minneapolis (337 Feet) which was my old home in the Boji went to college days....26th floor overlooking downtown....oh the horror.... :-)

Amazing. There is a lot of water out there.

We had over 300' at that spot on Agnes as well but forgot the exact number. It is a surprisingly small hole for how deep it is. I've asked about scuba diving but it sounds like 300 is way too deep.

I believe 60 feet is the limit for most recreational divers. With added training and certifications you can push it to 130 feet. Anything beyond that is for highly trained divers only and comes with significant risk either way.

I fish a mine pit in Minnesota, and it gets to over 525 feet deep. I would love to send a camera down to see what it looks like down there. Its interesting because if you wikipedia deepest mine pit in the state it says Portsmouth at about 400 feet, which is wrong. I thought wikipedia was always correct, I guess not.

I get that all the time. Then I see my transducer is not pointing down. :O)

Anyone happen to know how deep Burt Lake is? I did ping 300 ft as I crossed from the central island and the shore as I paddled in a southerly direction down toward the picto location(s) in the channel. I don't think this was an anomaly because the pattern repeated on another pass over the same area.

Portsmouth "was" 419 feet once, but the water did not quit raising. Remember seeing the iron ore trucks working in the bottom. Big aspen trees surrounded the pit lake and they are now under water.
I don't know about Portsmouth, but some of the Crosby pits water is almost coal black down super deep because I think it is a iron oxide reaction.
Otherwise oxygen levels are good at over 100+ of feet down.
