I've seen a lot of interest in this area since the late ice-out last year and some anxiety that the same will happen this year, too. I live about 3 hours south and use this area regularly. The Eleven Point River, Current River, and Jack's Fork River are pretty sweet places to float. The Current is about the only one you could do a 7 day on, and you'd be creative if you could do that. The prime area is about 54 miles, and you can stretch that to 93 but you'll see a decrease in quality. Jack's is an even shorter prime float, it merges with the Current at that previously mentioned 54 mile spot, but it's very high quality while it lasts. The Eleven Point is a magical place MON-FRI, on weekends in the warm season it gets a few day floaters, several day floaters. It's also a little more technical and can possibly separate you from your boat. It's not whitewater, it's not imminent that you will dump, but you can. The down side of the 11 is that 3 days is max for a quality float, unless you just want to camp on a pool and fish a couple of days. The place is FULL of fish. Rainbow, smallies, chain pickerel, a few small largemouth and some catfish. If anyone develops an interest, chime up and I'll give you some sites and some people to talk to.

Did it some years ago with Troop and going back this year - June. Stay at national park campground. Great place. Did a day on rental kayaks. Did seem hard to get many days out of it.

If you're ever interested in some company paddling during the week, give me a holler. I'm on the Current most weeks and am usually up for an overnight if I'm not working extra.
