I didn't work today so I made myself a salad for lunch with greens, topped with sliced fennel and orange sections, and EVOO.

My wife had a dinner meeting after work, so I indulged myself with some Copper River Sockeye Salmon with rosemary, lemon juice, and EVOO. I also roasted some cauliflower planks with lemon juice, EVOO, and Kalamata olives. I had some beet and carrot slaw on the side.

Yesterday I had a fennel, grapefruit, and pistachio salad with a couple of eggs on the side.

It was all good.

Last night we had fried eggs topped with crispy crumbled bacon, sauteed swiss chard, garlic scapes and vidalia onions.

We bought a half share in a CSA this year. I'm enjoying eating new things.

Sounds good. I haven't had any chard in a while, but I did have a massaged kale salad the other day with tomato and chopped garlic. It was different - good different.

Oddly enough, sunnyday, it's exactly what it sounds like - you massage the kale with your hands to tenderize it. Here is the general idea. I did mine with olive oil (good for those dry dishpan hands ;) and salt. If you type massaged kale in your internet browser bar, you'll get quite a few links to variations on the theme. I just happened to have a really nice tomato and a garlic clove, so...

Smoked a pork butt today. Pulled pork sammies with roasted potatoes and carrots. Lunch will be great this week.
