For those of you that care... The area West of the Gabimichigami Lake camp site has now been "reopened." It will no longer take you an hour to get through the tangle. The culprit was one very large cedar tree that sent you off trail and into a tangle of 30 or more downed trees... Also the area just east of that where a beaver has been very busy and his pond now invades a good portion of trail has been "identified" to lead you through. Also if you remember the portion of trail just west of the glacial moraine following said beaver pond, it too has been "re-identified." By my estimation this should save the "Average Joe" hiker almost 2 hours of hiking time.
I'm just here to give my opinion...If you don't like it, ignore it.
