Just got out today after a week in the Cherry lake area. We camped on the site between the two halves of the lake. What a week. The Walleyes were biting on leeches for us. We also caught 7 Lakers, 3 on Amoeber, and four on North Arm of Knife. Two of the Lakers on Amoeber were 31 and 32 inches long.

We spent one day casting along the shore of Amoeber with crank bates and caught no less than 150 Smallies.

Portage to Hanson was a mess, but did make our way to Fish lake for some Northern Pike fishing. Picked up 14 small ones.

Catching a nice lake trout in a canoe on light tackle is a blast. Sounds like you had a great trip. Pictures?

"Getting into 'em" is great, but when you "get into several species, that's just awesome.

Glad you had a great trip. Amoeber isn't loaded with lakers, but has some decent sized fish. I hope you released them.

We do practice catch and release. Always keep some small ones for meals.

Had a couple of BWCAW virgins along, and they each caught 2 Lakers. Will post pics after getting things unpacked.
