I made this knife from the only steel ever produced that was made specifically for the forging knife maker.
The steel is referred to as "Cru-Forge-V". It was made by Crucible Steel and contains a large amount of vanadium.
This blade was forged from a round 1 1/8" round bar.
The handle is stabilized Spalted Maple.
She's a beauty.
