My first solo trip to the bdub was also my first hanging trip. The WB Blackbird worked great. Best sleep in the woods in years. Even my DIY foam Underquilt with a safety blanket liner worked well.

Here is some of what I learned...
- where you sit down into your bedding makes a big difference in how easy it is to get comfy
-really glad my first trip was in fall = no bugs while I figured this all out
-really like the Blackbird's shelf
-a tiny pillow made a big difference in comfort. It was my son's and I wasn't going to bring it but really glad I did
- my Underquilt works but...it takes up a lot of room in the pack. It also needs stronger shock cord. Lastly, when applying the Mylar blanket, glue overspray is not a good thing.
-last minute purchase was no-rinse bath wipes from the camping section at Walmart. Great and easy way to keep the stank out of your bedding.
- for a quiet rig be sure to attach all cords to all points on the Superfly
-reflective para cord lights up like a lazer beam at night.

Don't think I will ever go back to the ground.

So...I used a spray glue to attach the Mylar blanket to the foam. I over sprayed a bit on the foam = to places not covered by Mylar. I almost couldn't unfold the underquilt because the excess glue tried to hold the foam together when it was folded up. There was also a little odor that got better over time.
