Nice TR. You did a great job redoing the Wenonah, she looks like new again.

I especially enjoyed this report since this was our trip in early June and it was easy to relive through your descriptions. That 287 rodder was tough on me since my back was killing me at the time.

Curious, was the skull you found on an island campsite? We found a skull zip-tied to a tree and cut it down and put it off to the side. I'd guess it stayed around and was found by lots of folks over the summer.

Great job on your canoes!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks OldFingers, I used to do auto body work years ago, so that experience definitely helped in the restoration! If I keep it, I think I'll be adding keel protectors before next spring.

Yes, it was on an island. On a site up high on a point. I wanted to get a pic, but the waves were ridiculous when we came around the corner, so I didn't want to chance it. And, thank you for the compliment on the canoes. The Sundowner is pretty much done, but I didn't have much time on the Mohawk, so I still need to restore the color. I started on a small spot last night & it looks like it should buff out pretty easily :)

I also did the 285 rodder both ways about 3 weeks ago. I made a note to self to bring less fishing equipment next time and maybe less of a few other things.

Thank you for the nice report and pictures. I wish I lived closer to the BWCA so I could make it up there more often. I am jealous that you were there three times this year!!!! Happy paddling.
