Not sure if this should be an 'off topic' post but just received an FOW email with info on the new nonprofit created. Congrats to all who made it happen. Looks like a worthwhile endeavor.

It was great to meet with the Friends of Wabakimi at their booth at Canoecopia this past weekend. Thanks to the Canadian and USA citizens who have created the Friends Group! The Wabakimi Project has done much to document and inform fellow paddlers about this vast and wonderful area. The Project's work continues and can use volunteers to help fill this summer's schedule. Certainly, all who want to enjoy and help to ensure the long term preservation of this resource should join the Friends of Wabakimi! Small world, I bought the #3 myself this weekend at the show, for a possible trip in Sept. or first thing next May. I hope this rush to get the #3 is not indicative a sudden mass influx! Got alot of help from Ken at the booth, did not see anything about joining, must have been to intense studying the maps and asking questions. Also got alot of help from Bruce Heyer on routes and routines at his booth. Looking forward to a fly-in/fly-out for 10-12 days.
