Just had that rare thing happen where the schedule cleared and my boss said to get out of town for a while this fall.
I'm loyal to a fault and a creature of habit. I go to Frost lake every year and use Sawbill for outfitting. So since I have Frost checked off, but knowing my outfitter, where should I go for a five day trip?
It can be as ambitious as you can come up with.

So you want to stick with Sawbill but no Frost?
How about the Lady Chain to Malberg and then over through the Louse River to Wine down through Kelso. That's on my solo bucket list but I'm not sure what water levels in the fall do to that trip.
Cherokee Loop through the Temperance river system and Fire Lakes back to Sawbill.
If you don't mind paying for the shuttle have Sawbill drop you off at Kawishiwi Lake and take the Lady Chain back to Sawbill.

In at Sawbill....across the Fire Chain....up to S Temp.....across to Brule.....up thru the Cones into Davis and Kisk (thats a toughie)....over to Long Island.....down thru Gordon and you can find your way back from there I think...It's ambitious but a great 5 days
"What could happen?"

Yes, depending on how ambitious you are you can take the Lady Chain, the Louse River, or loop all the way up to Little Saganaga and back down like Steve and I did last fall (see trip report).

Well, after a few car camping trips, my go to guys and my brother quit on me and I started solo-Ing.
But my brother heard I was doing another trip this year and has opted in. I'm pumped for him to actually see the BDub beyond an entry point
He's a cooking snob, I haven't told him it will be space food and fish because we're single portaging it yet.
So back to Frost it is!
