If you are looking for an inexpensive down throw for extra warmth, Costco has them for about 20 bucks. I am planning on stacking 2 for a top quilt next weekend. I learned of them on Hammock Forum, Many there are excited about customizing as UQ or creating a foot box for a top quilt. Cheap solution for chilly nights.
I picked one of these up to use as a secondary top layer in my hammock and have been using it at night at home when the heat kicks down. It packs down nice in small in a compression sack.
I (actually my wife) picked up 3 of them this week. Reading all the hub bub over at hammockforums.net has me pumped. I think I can come up with an UQ that will get me down into the 30's for around $55 in materials. Plus, the third can me narrowed down and the extra material can be used for a footbox on a summer weight TQ. That one shouldn't be more than $25 with materials.
