From Wallace to Craven is the portages through Obukowin the way to go? From what I read it could be a tough go. Or is it easier going straight east to Crystal? Thinking of going straight east and running up the Haggert and playing around up north a bit and returning through Obukowin.

Marten has a video of going across the 3 mothers. I wonder why they call them that? :)

For anyone doing a loop in that area I would suggest returning via the Obukowin portages when the packs are lightest. If you were heading in during a drought it would be best to enter via the Obukowins. Rains during your trip would deteriorate the Obukowin somewhat but would raise the water levels on the Wanipigow for your exit, a win win situation.

Some of the worst horror stories about the Obukowin are written after a paddler uses the trapper sections and not the canoe portage trail. A little research will keep you on the proper path. They are long, do have wet and boggy sections but can be done.

He is... Haha... He works very hard to be in top shape. He's also a bit taller then say me. So those longer legs can be a good thing. Thanks Marten for those videos.

I'm praying for more snow to plow for more canoeing money. My other wages are set and I'm paying dr bills besides. So bring on the snow until I reach my goal. :) WCPP does cost a little so takes a little more planning. I'm hoping for two trips up there this year.
