Bell's Two Hearted was forever my gold standard. But I'm finally feeling comfortable saying that I have no favorite. That said, I lean toward an evening that includes one PA and one stout/porter.
Focus too narrowly on one specific name and you'll miss the wonderful surprises, like the Omnipollo Zodiac Pale Ale from Stockholm, Sweden which we enjoyed immensely with our meal at Spoon and Stable last Saturday.

That's a really tough call. I have different go to beers for different occasions.
Ice fishing or hunting trip - Miller Light or PBR
Summer afternoon on the deck - Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale
Fall - Anything Oktoberfest - Sam Adams has a good one.
Other occasions - I don't have a standard go to but I do favor local MN breweries. A 6 pack might be a bit more expensive but I like to support the local guys. Current favorite is Bent Paddle Harness IPA.

I don't have a single beer that I choose most of the time. When I am in a taproom I will usually choose something new over something I know I like. However, the "go-to" idea applies when I am buying for other people. If there is a gathering at my home I might buy a growler of Glacier Point Pale Ale at the local South Gate Brewery. If I am buying at a store, I'll buy an ipa and a stout that I like and suspect most other people would too. Pine Drops and Green Flash West Coast IPA are ipa possibilities and Narwhal and Old Rasputin are stout possibilities.
