Black List brewery, a small operation in Duluth is opening a Brewery/ taproom in downtown Duluth this summer. They are making some very nice Belgian ales available in a few stores around town. I've only seen them in bombers with corks and wires..Spendy but well worth the price. I tried an IPA with spruce tips and fennel...perhaps the most complex and delightful brew I've ever had. Anyway..looking forward to sampling a few of their others on tap this summer.

With the huge variance in liquor laws from state to state, I was curious if I brought growlers with other brewery logos could they be filled in MN?

Until recently, that was verboten here. I've got several polycarbonate half growlers that would be great to use for some fresh beer on the first night.

Indiana. It was just in the last 12-18 months that they let breweries fill someone elses growler. I think they're required to put their sticker on it, or maybe that's just marketing.

I have growlers from 7 different local breweries, some in multiples. Only need a couple now.

In California, a law has been passed that ALLOWS breweries to fill the growlers of other breweries. However, it does not REQUIRE a brewery to fill the growler of another brewery. Some breweries have stated that they WILL NOT fill the growlers of other breweries. Russian River Brewing (Pliny the Elder and other greats) is one of those.
I guess that you can ask politely. Add that you are just passing through because they are probably hoping that a local would want to buy their growler.
